I, too, was once a “satisfied customer” of Lynn Kay Kennels until I learned that my puppy was not bred to the Newfoundland breed standard and that all of his medical issues were a result of her poor breeding tactics. It wasn’t until all the problems started compounding close to the 6 month mark, that I realized that I had purchased from a backyard breeder and not a reputable one, with standards held by the Newfoundland community. I didn’t contact my local regional club to vet Linda out. She is not a member. I didn’t contact the Newfoundland Club of America either; also missing from their breeder list. My puppy was sent home to me just shy of 8 weeks; too young for a cardio check at 10 weeks to confirm if the puppy’s heart was healthy. I didn’t know this was a thing. A reputable breeder would’ve ensured it happened AND educated me on the process. Instead, when contacting Linda Ward, I was met with anger, denial and blame. Apparently this puppy’s issues were all my fault and she doesn’t breed dogs with issues. Well, he is almost 6 now and suffers from eye, lung, kidney, ortho, immune, gastrointestinal, ear, and neurological issues and diseases. Shame on all of those involved with Lynn Kay Kennels for producing sick puppies. This kennel is now on a kick to get positive Google reviews which makes me sick to my stomach. They are claiming I don't have one of their puppies, but he is very real and very unhealthy. Do your research -- connect with your local Newfoundland club or the NCA.

I have been the proud owner of 3 newfies. I have loved each of them equally. However, my last newfie came from Linda and Lynn Kay Kennels. I was very impressed with the quality information provided by Linda! She answered every little question I had. The newfie I got from her has been in perfect health. When we have been at various dog events, we are frequently asked if my newfie is from championship blood lines as she is so well defined. I have nothing but the highest compliments regarding Lynn Kay Kennels.

In July 2011 we had to have our 2nd Bernese Mountain Dog put down that same day my husband was on line looking for Newfoundlands. We have had 2 others in the past and really like the breed. My husband found LynnKay Kennels and called that day. Linda had just delivered a new litter and had a fawn available. We were able to see him when he was about 5 days old and were able to visit the kennel several times to visit our ‘Chet’ before bringing him home (an advantage to living relatively close by). We have remained in touch with Linda and Shelia ever since. Early this year Chet was showing signs of a re- occurring problem with his right hind leg, we believe he caused damage to the femoral head while playing in 2012. Beside favoring the leg he became listless, stopped eating and wouldn’t come back into the house during the cold spell we had in Michigan this winter. The orthopedic vet was running tests. My husband suggested calling Linda the evening we took Chet for additional work. I described what was happening and Linda told me he was running a temperature and also needed fluids. I had the vet take his temperature and sure enough a fever and Chet was given fluids. The vet was impressed, very impressed by Linda’s knowledge of ‘her babies’. I thank you Linda for being available to Chet and knowing what to do to help him. He has had surgery to remove the femoral head and is recovering nicely. We expect him to be back to his old self soon.

We want to thank you for our Newfie family. With your excellent advise and always willing to answer our every question, on health, grooming and just everyday things. It's nice to know that breeders like you not only sell the puppies but stand up to the quality and knowledge that you give on and beyond.

We picked up our "little"brown girl from Linda 5 days ago and our home has truly been blessed. Im a stay at home mom of eight and retired obedience trainer and groomer. I knew we needed a very special dog for our family with all our kiddos. We have had other breeds in th past that just were not the right fit for our family. After a couple years of thorough research we decided that a Newfoundland was for us. Then after another year of searching for reputable breeders I found Linda and she happened to have a litter ready at the same time we were and then the constant communication with Sheila began as Linda is very understandably busy with her babies. I couldnt believe that my dream was about to come true ! After eight weeks the day finally came to pick up our little girl and meet Linda :- ) She is amazing and within five minutes...or less of being in her home you can tell that Newfies are her life ♥ When she put my new baby in my arms I cried as a new mom does when she delivers a baby. We came home and our little Gypsy girl has been attached to my kids like glue ! She does not let them out of her sight ! I knew the breed was like that but when I actually saw it with my kids I knew we made the right decision adding a Newfies to our family...let me tell you that little girl already owns me ;-) and another amazing thing happened on day three...my three year old daughter woke up with a fever and that seven week old puppy went right over to her and stay by her until my daughter felt better ! Simply beautiful to see ...just incredible with children ! I wish we could have gotten two last week ! ...maybe next year we will add another ;-) but when ever we decide to we will definitely call Linda ♥ Thank you Linda for your knowledge and kindness and welcoming us to your home and thank you Sheila for putting up with my constant emails ;-)...you're a sweetie ♥
