I have recently had colorized DVDs of WENT THE DAY WELL 1942 and
WITNESS FOR THE PROSECUTION, Charles Laughton.
Both DVDs appeared to be HD, 'Witness' in particular was stunning, I suspect 1080p.
I cannot fault the picture clarity or the sound BUT the colorization system is what lets down the overall quality. I have several colorized movies from LEGEND films and the end result makes most of their movies appear as if they were actually made in colour, it is that good.
On the other hand the color process here is overall just a poor novelty, and often an annoying distraction.
There are some scenes such as those involving fields, trees, grass, blue sky's which look magnificent, but on street scenes, vehicles and clothes in particular the colour effects are unstable and often produce an iridescent effect. A vehicle in Went the day Well changed its colour three times in a few seconds!
This is a great shame. I cannot understand why some scenes look so good yet others are simply terrible. I hope they can try to iron-out these defects. As things are at the moment I fear this colourization process, also used on some YouTube movie channels, is just turning people against the process.
I am in favour of colourisation but only when it is done well, for example the Legend movies and some Laurel and Hardy comedies. I have no idea what system they used, but is is far superior.

I have ordered numerous dvds from here over the past few years. Recently I placed a order of 7 movies which I figured I'd receive on DVD, like my previous orders. Then I noticed I had downloads of about 4 of the movies in my inbox.
Going back to the site I then noticed they are only selling downloads now. When I inquired about possibly getting my 64.23 back. They basically called me illeterate. Anybody who speaks to customers as they did to me. Deserves NO customers. I personally will never use them again for anything.

Just viewed ‘raremovies’ colorized version of ‘Abbott and Costello meet Frankenstein’.
An interesting experience but a little disappointed as colours ran into each other in very detailed scenes and image was a little soft. Would like to know their system. ‘Legend’ films seem to do better.

I just received a colorized copy of the 1942 classic movie “ Yankee Doodle Dandy”. I cannot tell you how disappointed I was upon opening the package followed by playing it. It came in a cheap thin paper jacket and I knew then it was going to be a big disappointment. As soon as it started showing the blurry opening credits I knew I had made a big mistake. It obviously had been copied several times. The definition was very poor, color stability terrible. In general I cannot recommend your buying anything from rare movies.biz. Greatly disapointed.

I was hesitant to buy from raremovies.biz since I’d never heard of them before. I’m glad I took the chance!! Both movies I ordered played perfectly and were good quality. I only wish they took requests, as there are quite a few other movies I’m looking for which I cannot find anywhere.

I have been dealing with raremovies.biz for many years. I have found the quality of the DVDs exceptional for copies, and I can honestly say I have never had a problem with them. The customer service is excellent.

This is a review of the 1991 movie "In A Child's Name" on DVD format. I ordered it from raremovies.biz and received it about a week later. The quality of the movie is almost DVD quality, but better than youtube. That would be ok, but I'm pretty familiar with this movie, as I've seen it a few times in the past, and I'm watching it now, and since I'm so familiar with it, I noticed right away there were scenes edited. I'm disappointed I paid almost $20 for a movie that for some reason was edited and there was no warning of it being done on their site when I purchased it. If you don't mind this, you'll probably be happy with this company, but I'm pretty aggravated and disappointed and I wish I could give this zero stars. It's almost like someone thought a scene with blood was going to be damaging to a sensitive viewer, and it was removed. It's already a made for TV movie, what a joke!

The DVDs I purchased were good quality, many hard to find films available, unlike many sites that sell deleted movies Raremovies supply full artwork covers with their DVDs. I will be returning to buy more.
