Excelsior has done a complete roof replacement and two major patches for remodeling for me in the last ten years. They are always quick, clean and professional. They are very detailed in their estimates so there are no assumptions that could lead to misunderstandings of the scope of work. I don't even feel the need to get competing prices any more. I would recomend them for any job.

So honest. Locals who care to do it right. I got 3 bids on my roof... all companies that are highly reviewed on Yelp. The first company pushed to sell me a whole new roof for 12K never mentioning that all I needed was a bit of maintenance. The 2nd company said it needed some repairs that would cost $4k!! Excelsior told me right off the bat that it only needed about $1k of maintenance and repairs: relining a wooden gutter, some hot tar replacement to tighten things up, a few shingles, the cover to a light well, etc. Excelsior was on time and super easy to work with... Mark and his family grew up and live in SF... they love the city and care about doing high quality work without ripping people off. Buy local... some of the other companies are based outside of SF and probably don't have the same allegiance.
Important to get at least 3 bids, otherwise you'll never know the truth about what you really need.
