DONT USE TRTCLE!-- It is misleading and a ripoff! I bought the Missouri Compliance package for $179. I then canceled my registration for the Missouri Annual Law update which would give me all the hours that I needed for compliance. The when I took the TRT course it was just 2 self-study classes on line that had no Missouri credit at all. Unbelievable! Now I am scrambling to cover my Missouri compliance. I will have to take a lot of expensive last minute courses. I am considering a class action lawsuit for false advertising. Checking now to see if my credit card company will refund my money under a fraud claim.

Dear Mr. Beeny,

We acknowledge your recent purchase of our Missouri Compliance Bundle, which comprises both Live and Online credits designed to fulfill the Missouri CLE requirements. We promptly credited all the requisite hours to your TRTCLE account upon your registration on May 19, 2023. Additionally, on the same day, you received a registration email containing instructions on how to access the live credits and enroll in any of our numerous live courses, which are available daily. The registration instructions provided were as follows:

Quick Guide to Applying Live Credits Toward Teleconference/Webcasts:
1. Log in to your TRTCLE account.
2. Click on "My Live Credits" or "Courses," then select "Teleconference/Webcasts" and your state.
3. Add the desired Teleconference/Webcasts to your cart and click "Checkout."
4. Opt for "Pay with Live Credits?" and click "Checkout" once more.
5. Access Teleconference/Webcast information through "My Courses" > "Teleconference/Webcast."
6. Locate your chosen course under "Upcoming" and click on the course title for dial-in details, passcodes, materials, and credit breakdown.

For Retrieving Teleconference/Webcast Certificates:
1. Follow Steps 5 & 6 mentioned above.
2. Click "Get Certificate," input the embedded code, and complete the evaluation.
3. Click "Submit," and access your certificate via "My Account" > "My Certificates" > "Teleconference/Webcasts."

We also sent the instructions to you again on June 28, 2023, following your email inquiry about accessing your live credits. When you contacted our customer support team via email for help on June 28th, a customer specialist promptly responded. It's important to note that after the above instructions were sent to you again, we did not hear from you via telephone or email. Leading us to believe that you were able to proceed with registering for the live programs. Considering the impending Missouri CLE Deadline of June 30th, we understand the urgency you felt in completing 9 hours of Live Programming in less than 2 days, which is why we acted swiftly to assist you in navigating your account. Our Customer Support team takes our attorneys' satisfaction and requests for assistance very seriously. It is not only our priority, but our commitment and mission. Therefore, hearing this from you as a negative review online as opposed to reaching out to us is quite upsetting and does not align with our standards.

Furthermore, you successfully completed four (4) programs, two (2) on June 23, 2023, and two (2) on June 27, 2023, for which you generated Certificates of Attendance. These certificates are accessible in your TRTCLE account, and the programs you completed are as follows:

1. Expert Trial Skills
2. The Mindful Approach to Addressing Mental Health Issues in the Legal Profession
3. A Primer on I-9 Compliance and Discrimination
4. Communicating with Clients

I want to emphasize that there was no false advertising involved, and several Missouri attorneys have successfully completed this bundle in time for the June 30th deadline. We offer an ample number of live programs daily to accommodate the 9-hour live requirement. The live credits were made available in your TRTCLE account and remain there. Additionally, it's worth noting that you have two active TRTCLE accounts with different email addresses and purchases from previous years, which may have contributed to any confusion you experienced.

We would have been more than happy to assist you with registering for the live classes had we been aware of the difficulties you were facing. However, after our initial email explaining how to access the live credits, we did not receive any further communication from you, and according to our phone records, there were no calls for assistance. Our customer support team explicitly offered further assistance in their email to you on June 28th, stating, "Need further assistance? Let me know the best time and phone number, and I'll gladly help."

In conclusion, the statements you made regarding false advertising in your online review are entirely inaccurate and baseless. The bundle you purchased included all of the credits to satisfy your annual Missouri CLE Requirement. It included the four (4) courses you successfully completed, as listed above, not the 2 Self-Study courses as you stated in your review, along with the nine (9) live credits that are currently available in your account under "MY LIVE CREDITS." You can see the details in your TRTCLE account:

My Live Credits
Live Credits
9.00 Live Credits remaining

Your Live Credits never expire. To utilize them, simply visit our Teleconference catalog or Live Lecture catalog, select the courses that align with your schedule and interests, add them to your cart, and choose 'Pay with Live Credits' during checkout to register for these courses at no additional cost.

At TRTCLE, our dedication to our company's values, customer experience and support, and the satisfaction of attorneys is unwavering. We are fully committed to delivering exceptional service, ensuring a smooth course completion process, and offering support seven days a week. Moreover, during critical months like June when you were working on completing your credits for the Missouri deadline, we extend our assistance with additional hours to provide attorneys with the help they need.

Great price, easy system for recording credits, the embedded codes are both spoken and written, and are clearly there to prove that you’re listening, but that’s the catch. The content is lame. You see the same instructors repeatedly, and they make the topics rather boring. Irrelevant war stories from failed trials and minutiae of history told by jumping back and forth between topics, chock full of cliche phrases. A waste of CLE time. But for the price, I wouldn’t return. But I fulfilled my credits without taking off my bathrobe. You get what you pay for.

I just can’t recommend this company highly enough. I was coming up on a CLE deadline and had pandemic time on my hands, so I called their customer service to discuss a “bundle.”

Within 5 minutes, I had selected a plan, been provided with a login, and, within 10 minutes I was into my first course.

And the courses were great. I needed FL credits, and there was an abundance of classes to choose from. I’ve been doing CLE for 36 years, started in the old days when you were packed into a room (sometimes smoky!) and had to fight the dozing off while somebody droned up front. Online is MUCH better, obviously, but I’ve done “bundles” with other online providers and they all have fallen far short of TRTCLE. Either in terms of their software or course offerings, and sometimes dreadful speakers. Not a problem with TRTCLE. If you really want to know how good these offerings are, I actually found myself trolling into subjects I had no expertise in, just because the presentations were that good. And I can’t say enough about the customer service/support. I dealt primarily with Fareed, who invariably responded promptly and answered any questions I had. Just a really nice guy, and he even helped me get the “certifications” filed with FL.

zero customer service. If you buy a package it is almost impossible to to into the system and see what courses you can take that are included in the package. service phone number takes voice messages only. When will they call back? roulette wheel. Horrible system; will not be using it again once I get through this bad experience. I would give it less than one star if that were possible.

They make it VERY difficult to get CLE credit. They require that you submit a code that briefly flashes on screen with one audible ding. Neither of the states I am licensed in require this step, so I'm not sure why TRT requires it. I've purchased CLEs from similar websites and they did not require this.
Why after they charge you $200 for really poor quality CLEs they require you take this extra step to get what you purchased I don't know.

Hello, Michelle:

We are really sorry for your experience, and we take this type of feedback very seriously. We have provided Continuing Legal Education to attorneys across the United States for over three decades and have a relationship with every state regulator. Every state requires a pre-approved verification procedure, such as an embedded code method or testing. However, embedded codes are universally accepted. As for how they appear during the course, they follow the guidelines that are accepted by every mandatory CLE jurisdiction. They appear through an audible and visual cue while the lecturer stops teaching and the video itself stops for the time that the Continuing Legal Education Boards permit. In addition to that, you can stop a video, rewind it, and restart it. There is also a notes section in the course where you can take note of the embedded code.

Furthermore, if you reached out to us for assistance, we are always available and willing to assist you. We are available by phone Monday through Friday and by email seven days a week. We take pride in the service we provide our attorneys, and we appreciate each one. If you had reached out to us for help, we would have responded to you promptly. I do not see in our records that you reached out. However, if you call us at 888-397-6399 or email us at info@trtcle.com, we will look into this for you right away.

Our goal as a company is to provide quality and seamless Continuing Legal Education courses to attorneys while assisting every step of the way. In addition, we work tirelessly to provide exceptional customer service. Therefore, if you had any trouble with the course videos or were simply unhappy with your purchase, you just needed to reach out to us, and we would have followed up promptly to resolve it.

Best regards,

The TRTCLE Team

I am taking a bundle of these courses now (Sept 2022) and it is impossible to miss the embedded codes, unless you are in a coma (or of course, if you're trying to cheat) - they last for about a minute, and they are spoken out loud as a complete sentence. The site gives a comprehensive list of the courses you bought, and which you have completed; and, important to me (admitted in 3 States), it shows the amount and nature of the credit for each state. You can pause the playback, or mark a video to watch later. I have no experience with their customer service. Quality of the material is another matter, but I have no issues with ease of use on TRTCLE.

Hello, David:

We are so sorry for your experience regarding missing an embedded code in the course video. The embedded codes appear through audio and visual cues. The lecturer stops speaking, and the embedded code appears on the screen, giving the attendee time to make a note of it.

If you were reaching out over New Year's Eve/Day, we might have been closed. However, you can email us at any time, and someone will get back to you. I do not see that you emailed, and we did not have a phone number to call you; however, we followed up yesterday (January 3, 2022), when we reopened after the holiday weekend. If you still need assistance, please give us a call at 888-397-6399 or email us at info@trtcle.com.

Best regards,

The TRTCLE Team

I've been an attorney for a number of years now and sometimes get jammed up at the end of the year trying to get my CLE's in. In the reporting cycles that I get behind on CLE, I usually have a lot going on, and dropping everything to hunt for CLE's is an annoying additional end-of-year task that I find annoying, time consuming and often frustrating. This has been a total game changer: I can't believe I just now discovered TRT CLE, and I genuinely love them! Some of their CLE's are a little dumb, and go far afield from the title, but honestly I'm not taking these courses to gain a deeper or more nuanced understanding of the law, I'm taking them to satisfy a requirement so that I can keep my license. I cannot recommend these things highly enough: I have paid hundreds of dollars to WSBA for last-minute CLE, scouted random local CLE opportunities, learning about weird areas of the law I will never practice in or hear about ever again; had to pull together speaker bios and send WSBA massive packets of material to get credit for my courses... I've been down a lot of rabbit holes with CLE. TRT is a total game changer and I will never go back: I love that they are pre-approved so as soon as I finish the video I get credit for the hours, and that they have a TON of ethics courses- I will never again be jammed up in mid-December, and I am a fervent booster of this awesome service. I would literally send them the cost of the bundle again just in appreciation of how easy they have made this process (...that I have been dreading dealing with since October). ;)

I subscribed to a CLE package with TRTCLE. For the most part I have little to complain about. The presentations were fine, and the audio and video quality good. The need for a validation code is slightly annoying, but since it makes an audible "ding" when shown on screen, I was always able to pause and, if necessary, scroll back in the Vimeo video to get the codes. I can see that if you encountered technical issues with Vimeo this would be a frustrating product, but I had no such problems. Also no problem obtaining credit, as all of the classes were previously approved by my state's bar. Overall a great value as a way of obtaining needed CLE credits.

I purchased numerous courses and watched enough to satisfy my requirements. However, one of the courses was not recorded so the credits didn't issue. I was deemed non compliant for .5 credit hours. When I contacted customer service they insisted that there couldn’t be any mistake and refused to help. It's complicated to see what credits are being reported after you take the course, so I didn't realize it had not been reported until I was fined for being non-compliant.

Unless you live in New York, North East, these courses are useless for you. Their instructors are NewYorl attornies that discuss NY specific law. I am interested in federal or California Law! I don't care about NY S3211 because I will never practice in New York!

And after that, most of the courses are BORING! Monotone speakers that read verbtim notes from course materials. 1speskers clears his throat every 30 seconds and looks he is experiencing stage fright!'

Everything you say is absolutely true. I couldn't believe how bad it was. I also had trouble with stopped videos that I was continually trying to restart. TRTCLE told me that everything at/on Vimeo was working perfectly. No, it wasn't.

I agree that the instructors are lame. One of them is a trial lawyer who loves to tell largely irrelevant war stories about trials that he lost. On a topic of trial skills, he talked about a single juror who hijacked the jury. The same boring story showed up in his lecture on ethics.

Another instructor gave us the entire history of the internet over two hours. Unfortunately, his lecture was entitled “Technology, The Internet, and The Law”. I’m pretty sure I heard the same long, boring story last year from him in a lecture packages under a slightly different title.

Nevertheless, the price was right—$67 for 45 credit hours. The embedded codes merely prove that you’re listening. Anyone that says otherwise probably fell asleep, but they could hardly be blamed for that.

Very bad experience. a) poor course quality: at one point the audio was lost for minutes. Also, difficult to find embedded codes. b) hidden fees: the bar association told me that the CLE reporting fees were not paid. I had to pay $40 myself, which equals half of the course fee. c). unprofessional staff: it took me several calls to TRTCLE to get an answer (I was once put on hold for a long time) that they NEVER pay reporting fees and they don't tell their clients about this. Ms. Brown replied that 'it is not thousands of dolloars. I am too busy to talk to you.'

I agree with Rose about poor course quality and unresponsive staff. I purchased a 10 course Texas CLE bundle. I watched 7 courses through the end of 2018. As of 1-1-2019 the remaining 3 courses had disappeared from my account. I am still trying to get their staff to return my calls. It has been impossible to talk to a live person. Pay your money to a more legitimate CLE provider.

About as bad as it gets with regards to the quality of the seminars. Poor quality video, videos shot from hotel rooms, poor sound quality, and minimal useful information. The only positive is the price...but you get what you pay for. Actually compared a lawyer who used marijuana as terrorist sympathizer...claiming a person who abuses alcohol as having as having a higher "moral" standing then someone who uses marijuana. This coming from one of the founders of TRTCLE. 45 hours of my life wasted.

I followed up on this horrible review, as I couldn't believe it could be so bad. I spoke with Sharon Brown, an owner. She assured me that if you have any trouble getting the attendance code, call them, and they will make sure you have it. She also told me that they have updated many of their lectures to include an audio code, so that if you are there you will hear it and not miss it. She also tells me that they have easy to reach customer service if there is any problem, and along that line, I was impressed by how easy it was to reach her. Based upon my interviewing her, I am going to purchase their California package and give a top rating in advance. You will hear from me if there is any problem at all.

VEry difficult to get credit for these CLE's. They have an embedded code which briefly flashes across the screen at some point during the CLE, and you need that to get credit. I have missed this over and over again and have had to watch the things over and over to try to find the code. RUN, don't walk, away from these people!!! Bueschel WSBA 17836

Hello Richard,

We are sorry that you experienced such an inconvenience with our system. For future reference if you are having issues with the embedded codes then please give customer service a call and they will be more than happy to immediately assist you. Additionally, you can pause the video when the code plays so that you can manually retain the code.

Kind Regards
